Sprint To Pay $17.5M To End Termination Fee Suit

Law360 (January 5, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Sprint Nextel Corp. has agreed to pay $17.5 million to settle a class action lawsuit brought by customers who claim the communications company's flat-rate early termination fees violate state and federal laws.

A judge in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey signed an order preliminarily approving the settlement and certifying the class Dec. 8, and class notification was sent Wednesday.

The suit, filed in November 2007, is still pending against AT&T Mobility LLC.
