Former Staples Sales Manager Files Overtime Action

Law360, New York (January 6, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A former sales manager at Staples Inc. has lodged a putative collective action suit against the office supply chain, claiming it violated the Fair Labor Standards Act by misclassifying its sales managers and failing to pay them overtime wages.

Lead plaintiff Christopher Price filed the complaint Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts on behalf of a national class of sales managers that could include at least 500 individuals, the suit estimates.
