US Joins Case Over Facebook Data Transfers From EU

Law360, New York (July 19, 2016, 4:00 PM EDT) -- An Irish court on Tuesday granted the United States permission to offer testimony in a European Union suit over international data transfers by Facebook.

The Irish High Court granted a request by U.S. authorities to be joined as an amicii curiae party to the suit by Austrian privacy activist Max Schrems against Facebook over the use of model contracts to transfers data from the EU to the United States.
