Sanofi Slaps Novo Nordisk Over Safety Needle Patent

Law360, New York (January 12, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Sanofi-Aventis Deutschland GmbH has sued Novo Nordisk Inc. over a safety needle for insulin injection, three days after the diabetes treatment manufacturer hit the pharmaceutical giant with its own declaratory action related to the same patent.

Sanofi's complaint, filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, accuses Novo of willfully infringing a patent the German company acquired in April 2008.
