T3 Accuses IBM Of Mainframe Monopoly Abuse In EU

Law360 (January 20, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- T3 Technologies Inc. lodged a formal complaint against IBM Corp. on Tuesday in the European Commission, accusing the technology giant of abusing its monopoly power by tying its products and withholding patent licenses in the computer mainframe industry.

T3, which describes itself as “the other mainframe company,” alleges that IBM has blocked sales of competing mainframe hardware products by binding its mainframe hardware to its popular operating system and refusing to license related patents and other intellectual property.
