Judge Nixes $225M Award For Sprint Over ETFs

Law360, New York (January 28, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Finding that the jury in a class action lawsuit over Sprint Spectrum LP's early termination fees did not follow instructions, a California judge has set aside a $225 million award for Sprint but left standing a $299 million award to the class, including a $74 million cash refund.

Judge Bonnie Sabraw of the Superior Court of California for the County of Alameda handed down an order Tuesday granting the plaintiffs' request for a new trial on Sprint's actual damages and the calculation of the setoff....
