Judge Denies Citgo Bid To Get Out Of Hot Fuel MDL

Law360 (January 30, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Citgo Petroleum Corp.'s hope to be tossed from multidistrict litigation alleging an oil industry hot fuel conspiracy has been dashed, with a federal judge saying the request was premature at this stage of the case.

The oil company, which had also sought an order for sanctions, had argued that the plaintiffs lacked standing to make claims that the company unlawfully elevated the price of fuel at the pump, because Citgo did not own or operate any retail gas stations.
