BMI Objects To Adelphia Voiding Agreement

Law360 (August 11, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Broadcast Music Inc. is trying to stop bankrupt Adelphia Communications Corp. from voiding its licensing agreement as part of the cable television company’s bankruptcy.

In court documents filed Thursday, BMI said it wants to continue negotiating with Adelphia so that a possible amendment to the licensing agreement can be reached.

In July, the bankruptcy court said it would allow Adelphia to reject any agreement deemed unnecessary or burdensome to the debtors’ ongoing business operations.
