Republic Air Settles $74M Bankruptcy Spat With Bombardier

Law360, New York (October 21, 2016, 3:54 PM EDT) -- Republic Airways on Thursday sought New York court approval of a settlement that would significantly reduce more than $74.6 million in claims brought against the bankrupt regional airline by Canadian aerospace company Bombardier Inc. and subsidiary Learjet over the sale of 40 CS300 aircraft.

The settlement, which must be approved by a bankruptcy judge, includes a modified sale agreement between Republic Airways and Bombardier. The deal would resolve the dispute by allowing Bombardier a general unsecured claim against Republic’s bankruptcy estate of more than $1.5 million...
