Feds Bum-Rush Int'l Cybercrime Syndicate

Law360, Philadelphia (December 1, 2016, 5:18 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Justice, the FBI and a Pennsylvania federal prosecutor revealed Thursday that they have begun taking down an international cybercrime network known as Avalanche, the second major enforcement effort against cybercriminals spearheaded by the partnership.

Assistant Attorney General Leslie R. Caldwell of the DOJ’s Criminal Division, acting U.S. Attorney Soo C. Song of the Western District of Pennsylvania, and Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Pittsburgh Division Robert Johnson said the operation to dismantle Avalanche began Wednesday.
