Inspectors Find Salmonella, Rodents At PCA Plant

Law360 (February 13, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Texas Department of State Health Services has ordered the Peanut Corp. of America to recall any products it has shipped from its Plainview, Texas, plant after inspectors discovered dead rodents, rodent excrement and bird feathers in a crawl space above the plant’s production area.

While investigating the plant, inspectors found that the plant’s air system had not been properly sealed and was “pulling debris from the infested crawl space into production areas and exposed food products."
