Delta Hit With Patent Suit Over In-Flight Wi-Fi

Law360 (February 17, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A Massachusetts technology firm has slapped Delta Air Lines Inc. with a patent infringement lawsuit over its Gogo Inflight Internet system, which allows passengers to access wireless Internet during flights with their laptop computers and phones.

Ambit Corp., based in Ashland, Mass., filed the lawsuit on Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts alleging that Delta’s in-flight communications system infringes its patent.

It also sued air communications company AirCell LLC, which partnered with Delta to launch Gogo Inflight Internet last December....
