Supreme Court To Mull 9/11 Victims' Bid V. Saudis

Law360 (February 17, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court is poised to consider the petition for a writ of certiorari on behalf of thousands of victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks — including insurance companies that paid $5 billion in claims — that are fighting to sue Saudi Arabia and other Saudi entities for allegedly funding al-Qaida.

The Supreme Court will consider the petition in a private conference on Feb. 20, and an order on whether the high court has accepted the petition will likely be issued on Feb. 23....
