Coin.mx Witness Tells Jury Pastor 'Wanted Out' Of Bank Biz

Law360, New York (February 27, 2017, 10:48 PM EST) -- A cooperating witness told Manhattan jurors Monday that he agreed to help Coin.mx operator Anthony Murgio take over a small New Jersey credit union after Murgio told him he had found a New Jersey pastor, defendant Trevon Gross, who was ready to exit the banking business for a price.

Jose Freundt pleaded guilty to fraud and conspiracy in connection with the Coin.mx bitcoin-exchange fraud in October. He is the second cooperator to testify against Gross and his co-defendant, tech expert Yuri Lebedev, in a trial before U.S....
