5th Circ. Denies Yahoo Home Court Advantage V. AA

Law360 (March 12, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has denied Yahoo Inc.'s request to shift its trademark battle with American Airlines Inc. to the search engine's preferred venue of Northern California, choosing instead to let the case continue to unfold in Texas.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit rejected Yahoo's petition for a writ of mandamus, siding with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas in the venue spat.
