3rd Circ. Backs Fraud Conviction, Sentence For NJ Contractor

Law360, New York (May 1, 2017, 3:06 PM EDT) -- The Third Circuit on Friday affirmed the conviction and sentence of a subcontractor charged with involvement in a bribery scheme for cleanup work at a Superfund site, rejecting his arguments that there wasn’t enough evidence at trial to support his conviction.

A federal jury had convicted subcontractor John A. Bennett of Bennett Environmental Inc. in March 2016 of bribing a contractor to ensure work on the Federal Creosote site in Manville, New Jersey.
