7 Charged In Chinese Trade Secrets Theft From Trelleborg

By Jack Newsham (May 24, 2017, 7:52 PM EDT) -- Federal prosecutors in Washington, D.C., charged seven people Wednesday with taking part in a scheme to steal trade secrets from a marine materials unit of the Swedish engineering firm Trelleborg AB, saying the thefts were meant to benefit a state-supported Chinese company.

Shan Shi, Kui Bo, Gang Liu, Uka Uche, Samuel Ogoe, and Johnny Randall were arrested and charged with theft of trade secrets after an investigation that culminated in a sting at a Washington conference center Wednesday, according to court papers. Hui Huang, who lives in China, is accused of helping direct the heist but remains at large, prosecutors say....
