Mich. Named Lead Plaintiff In AIG Securities Suit

Law360 (March 23, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The state of Michigan has been appointed lead plaintiff in consolidated securities litigation accusing American International Group Inc. of misleading investors about the value of subprime-related securities.

Judge Laura Taylor Swain of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Friday consolidated eight proposed class actions for trial and granted the state treasurer's request to lead the litigation.

She also granted the state's request to appoint Barrack Rodos & Bacine and the Miller Law Firm PC as co-lead counsel for the plaintiffs....
