Pa. House Passes Sweeping Gambling Expansion Measure

Law360, Philadelphia (June 8, 2017, 1:25 PM EDT) -- The Pennsylvania House of Representatives on Wednesday night passed a sweeping measure to expand gambling in the state that would authorize online gambling, regulate daily fantasy sports contests and, most controversially, allow as many as 40,000 video gaming terminals.

House Bill 271 passed the chamber with a 102-89 vote. While most support for the measure came from Republicans, who hold the majority in the chamber, 24 Democrats also voted in favor of the bill.
