3rd Circ. Interprets Local Controversy Under CAFA

Law360, New York (March 27, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has ruled for the first time that the Class Action Fairness Act does not require every class member to assert a claim against the local defendant in order for the case to be exempt from federal jurisdiction under the local controversy rule.
