Clear Channel, CBS Hit With Web Radio Patent Suit

Law360 (April 17, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A patent licensing company has sued radio giants Clear Channel Communications Inc., CBS Radio Inc. and others for allegedly infringing a patent covering technology that allows radio stations to replace local content with information for wider audiences when broadcasting over the Internet.

Aldav LLC filed suit on Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, accusing 12 media companies of direct and contributory infringement, including inducing radio broadcasters to violate the patent.
