Law360, San Jose (October 25, 2017, 10:17 PM EDT) -- Prager University, a nonprofit digital media organization, sued Google Inc. and its video platform YouTube in California federal court, alleging the tech giant illegally stifles free speech by censoring its content, "solely because of PragerU's political identity and viewpoint as a nonprofit that espouses conservative views."
The lawsuit, filed on Monday, claims Google discriminates against the educational videos that PragerU posts on its YouTube platform through the "arbitrary and capricious use" of filters the company purportedly uses to prohibit or limit access to unsuitable content, based on characteristics such as the prospective viewer's age.
