Pa. Appeals Court Revives Adelphia's $55M Deloitte Suit

Law360, Philadelphia (October 27, 2017, 7:02 PM EDT) -- The Pennsylvania Superior Court on Friday revived a $55 million lawsuit by an entity connected to defunct Adelphia Communications Corp. over Deloitte & Touche LLP’s alleged responsibility for the financial misdealings that led to the cable company’s 2002 collapse.

The appeals court said that a Philadelphia judge had erred when he concluded that an expert for Coudersport, Pennsylvania, cable provider Zito Media LP had relied on flawed methodology. The expert claimed that Deloitte’s missteps lopped as much as $55 million off Zito Media’s value.
