Attys Walk Out Of Brooklyn Court Over ICE Arrest

Law360, Los Angeles (November 28, 2017, 6:29 PM EST) -- Around 100 criminal defense attorneys launched an impromptu protest outside a Brooklyn courthouse Tuesday after at least one of their clients was picked up by federal immigration officials and detained after appearing in court on charges unrelated to immigration matters.

Attorneys with the Legal Aid Society and Brooklyn Defender Services walked out of the courthouse and took to the streets Tuesday afternoon, calling on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials to do their business outside the courthouse.
