Rural ISP Accuses Tribal Rival Of Frequency Extortion

Law360 (June 10, 2021, 6:24 PM EDT) -- A small internet and wireless service provider has accused the Round Valley Indian Tribes and its preferred ISP, All Tribal Networks, of leveraging an improperly issued Federal Communications Commission radio license to interfere with the rural ISP's wireless transmissions and poach its customers.

Your Town Online Inc. alleged in a complaint on Wednesday that All Tribal Networks threatened to clog the rural provider's longstanding and licensed frequency with malicious transmissions unless it paid hefty licensing fees.

"While the competition is welcome," Your Town said in its complaint, "these defendants are unfairly and unlawfully interfering with Your Town Online's business."
