Judge Initially OKs 53 Firms' Fee Plan In GM Ignition MDL
A federal judge in Manhattan has pushed forward a plan for a three-tier system for distributing $34 million in attorney fees and expenses among the 53 law firms involved in multidistrict litigation against General Motors, but asked for clarifications on how firms are assigned to each tier after objections were raised.

Fired Atty 'Lucky' To Get Reduced Fees In GM Ignition MDL
A New York federal judge has found that an attorney who filed ignition switch claims against GM on behalf of a client who had fired him can collect just over $3,000 of the nearly $22,000 in fees and expenses that he was seeking, saying that given his actions, he was "lucky to get anything."
