Attys Who Struck $10M UnitedHealth Deal Seek $3M Payday

By Rachel Stone (October 28, 2021, 5:03 PM EDT) -- Attorneys for health plan participants who sued over UnitedHealth Group's mental health reimbursement policies have asked a New York federal court to greenlight a $3.1 million fee award that's separate from the $10 million the insurer agreed to pay to end their case.

Zuckerman Spaeder LLP, Buttaci Leardi & Werner LLC and mental health insurance advocacy law firm Psych-Appeal Inc. told the court in a memorandum Wednesday that the results they'd achieved for the class of health insurance plan clients easily justified their requested fees and expenses.
