NFL's Bills Win OK For $2.5M Deal Over Excessive Texts

Law360, New York (April 17, 2014, 5:04 PM EDT) -- The Buffalo Bills professional football franchise won preliminary approval in Florida federal court on Tuesday of a $3 million deal settling class claims that a mobile alert program for news on the team sent out more text messages than fans had agreed to receive.

Florida District Judge Steven D. Merryday approved sending out notice of the pact, under which the Bills will provide class members who submit valid claims up to $2.5 million worth of debit cards good at the team’s stadium or official online store....
