Gym's Membership Rules Violate Ill. Law, Customers Claim

Law360 (April 13, 2018, 5:13 PM EDT) -- A proposed class of Illinois customers of fitness chain OrangeTheory hit the company and a Chicago franchisee with a lawsuit in state court on Thursday that claims the gym's contracts were misleading about charges following cancellation and violated Illinois consumer protection laws.

OrangeTheory's contracts contain language that make it seem like customers can get a prorated refund if they cancel their membership within three days of signing, but the reality is customers can't cancel without paying for at least two months of classes, the suit claims....
