NCAA Enjoys Home-Court Edge In Challenges To Its Rules

Law360, New York (March 17, 2017, 7:18 PM EDT) -- College basketball prognosticators may often argue over the weight of a school’s home-court advantage, but the NCAA has its home jurisdiction locked down when it comes to defending challenges to the legality of the association's rules and restrictions.

In the past year alone, three antitrust suits over the NCAA’s scholarship and eligibility rules have been shot down by Judge Tanya Walton Pratt in the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of Indiana, the home jurisdiction for the Indianapolis-headquartered NCAA.
