Aussie Watchdog To Eye Facebook, Google In Sector Review

Law360, New York (December 4, 2017, 9:17 PM EST) -- Australia's antitrust enforcer will open an investigation into whether Facebook, Google and other digital platform providers are using their market power to harm competition for media and advertising, the government said Monday.

The move, which is tied to broader legislation passed in October to overhaul the country's broadcast regulation, will allow the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission to force companies to answer questions about the market and how it works.
