NY Restaurateur, Chicago Wine Bar Settle Trademark Suit

By Joyce Hanson (July 18, 2018, 4:02 PM EDT) -- Italian restaurant group Passon & Passon Corp. agreed to end its suit accusing a pair of former employees of opening a "copycat" wine bar in Chicago in violation of the New York restaurants' trademarks on design and menu, according to a filing in Illinois federal court Tuesday.

U.S. District Judge Matthew F. Kennelly's single-paragraph order said nothing about the settlement terms and dismissed the case without prejudice until April 29, when it will automatically be dismissed with prejudice barring any enforcement action.
