Mother Of Minor Leaguer Who Died On Court Moves NBA Suit

By Christopher Crosby (October 22, 2018, 9:44 PM EDT) -- The mother of a deceased minor league basketball player sued the National Basketball Association and Detroit Pistons in Michigan federal court on Monday over the league's alleged failure to prepare for or treat her son's midgame cardiac event, months after voluntarily dropping a similar suit filed in New York. 

The mother of forward Zeke Upshaw, who played for the G-League team the Grand Rapids Drive, accused the NBA, Pistons and Drive's owner, SSJ Group LLC, of being unprepared when her son collapsed during the last minute of the last regular season game on March 24.
