Pretium Wants Suit Over Gold Mine Project Tossed

Law360 (August 28, 2019, 6:07 PM EDT) -- Gold miner Pretium Resources Inc. told a New York federal judge Tuesday that it should not have to face claims that it misled investors about the prospects for its Brucejack Mine in Canada, saying the Second Circuit already ruled in its favor in a similar case in 2018.

Pretium cast its investors’ accusations of intel concealment as a flimsy attempt to reinterpret mining data the company had produced. There is no basis for claims the company misled its investors, the company said, nor did it withhold information about the actual mining results from shareholders.
