Ariz. Highway Foes Push 9th Circ. To Nix Gov't Win

Law360, New York (April 20, 2017, 5:21 PM EDT) -- Environmental, community and tribal advocates continued to press the Ninth Circuit on Wednesday to overturn a ruling that the Federal Highway Administration and the Arizona Department of Transportation cut no corners on environmental reviews when approving a Phoenix-area road project.

The groups filed a reply brief in their appeal of U.S. District Judge Diane J. Humetewa’s ruling in favor of the FHA and the Arizona DOT on consolidated claims challenging the agencies’ evaluation and approval of the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway.
