Dodd-Frank Changes Apply To Whistleblower's Case: Judge

Law360, New York (July 9, 2012, 7:10 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge said Monday that the Dodd-Frank Act's amendments to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act that protect employees of public companies' nonpublic subsidiaries can be applied retroactively in a whistleblower's case against a Spanish information technology company.

Though he did not rule on the merits of the case, U.S. District Judge J. Paul Oetken ruled that the Southern District of New York has subject matter jurisdiction over the case and denied Telvent GIT SA and its various units' motion to dismiss.
