By Jody Godoy (July 15, 2016, 4:22 PM EDT) -- A former Fox News analyst was sentenced on Friday to two years and nine months in prison after having pled guilty to lying his way into overseas U.S. military contractor jobs and using supposed connections to the Central Intelligence Agency to defraud a woman.

Wayne Shelby Simmons, 62, pled guilty in April to defrauding the government in order to secure two separate contracts in 2009 and 2010, to separately conning a woman out of $125,000 with the promise of a real estate investment that never existed and to illegally possessing firearms.
