Inside The New SBA Mentor-Protege Past Performance Rules

Law360, New York (August 16, 2016, 4:09 PM EDT) -- ​On July 25, 2016, the U.S. Small Business Administration published its long-awaited final rule providing for a major expansion of its mentor-protege program.[1] Not only does the final rule makes changes broadening the existing 8(a) mentor-protege program, it includes regulations creating a new small business mentor-protege program that will be open to all small businesses and which will include benefits very similar to those offered under the 8(a) mentor-protege program. These regulations, which represent monumental changes to the federal contracting landscape (for small and large businesses), will go into effect Aug. 24, 2016.
