Schiff Hardin Asks 5th Circ. To Nix Insurer's Malpractice Suit

Law360 (April 12, 2018, 10:02 PM EDT) -- Schiff Hardin LLP on Thursday asked the Fifth Circuit to end a suit by Ironshore Europe DAC claiming the law firm's bad advice about a product liability trial cost it $34 million, saying it has immunity under Texas law.

Schiff Hardin asked the panel to overturn a district court ruling allowing Ironshore to continue with some of its negligent misrepresentation claims, saying they are immune from suit for any statements made in the course of representing its client.
