Wachtell Leads Broadcom In $18.9B CA Technologies Buy

Law360 (July 11, 2018, 7:15 PM EDT) -- Broadcom, advised by Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz, rolled out an $18.9 billion deal for New York-based software company CA Technologies on Wednesday, after national security concerns halted the chipmaker’s 12-figure hostile takeover campaign for rival Qualcomm earlier this year.

The planned acquisition of CA Technologies comes about four months after a presidential order based on a recommendation from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States prohibited Broadcom from continuing its $117 billion pursuit of California-based Qualcomm.
