'Purge' Producers Wrongly Cut From Suit, Screenwriter Says

By Kelly Knaub (September 14, 2015, 8:00 PM EDT) -- A screenwriter alleging that Universal City Studios LLC's horror flick "The Purge" ripped off his script has asked a California federal judge to reconsider an order dismissing two of the film's producers from his suit, claiming any defendant that violates his exclusive right is also liable for copyright infringement.
