Apple V. Samsung Could Spur 'Patent Trolls,' Tech Cos. Warn

Law360, Washington (August 2, 2016, 2:26 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court could spark a new wave of opportunistic design patent litigation by upholding Apple's $400 million infringement judgment against Samsung, major tech companies and public interest groups warned Tuesday, arguing the suit could give "patent trolls" another path to the courthouse.
