4th Circ. Hammers Cox, BMG Attys Over Online Piracy

Law360, Richmond, Va. (October 25, 2017, 6:35 PM EDT) -- The Fourth Circuit held a contentious argument Wednesday morning in a closely watched copyright case filed by BMG Rights Management against Cox Communications, silencing one attorney and telling another not to “dance around” facts.

During oral arguments in a case weighing when broadband providers must police online infringement on their networks, the three-judge panel was notably combative with attorneys for both companies, pressing early and often for more direct answers.
