Avenatti Seeks DQ Of Ex-Partner's Counsel In $10M Fee Fight

Law360 (January 11, 2019, 8:46 PM EST) -- Attorney and Trump antagonist Michael Avenatti told a California federal judge on Thursday that counsel for a former law partner trying to enforce a $10 million judgment against him from a fee dispute are hopelessly conflicted and must be disqualified.

The reason: Lawyers at Frank Sims & Stolper LLP, the firm started by his old law partner and current creditor Jason Frank, also represent their former firm, Eagan Avenatti LLP, in a long-running Orange County civil dispute that's about another big chunk of fee cash.
