PBS, Others Target TV Streaming Startup In IP Suit

Law360, New York (March 1, 2012, 9:47 PM EST) -- Univision Television Group Inc., the Public Broadcasting Service and other media companies sued IAC/InterActive Corp.-backed Aereo Inc. in New York federal court Thursday, claiming the startup's plan to stream digital versions of television signals is copyright infringement.

Aereo's service offers customers access to broadcast programming on mobile devices or Internet-enabled televisions through the use of a small remote antenna connected to a digital video recorder. The company plans to launch its service in New York City on March 14.
