Don King Wins Fla. High Court Appeal Over $23M Jai Alai Deal

Law360, Miami (March 28, 2013, 8:53 PM EDT) -- The Florida Supreme Court handed boxing promoter Don King a win Thursday when it ruled that an oral agreement modifying a $23 million contract to sell a Palm Beach County jai alai fronton was not enforceable.

In a 6-1 decision, the state high court said the verbal extension of the due diligence period of the written contract to sell the Mangonia Park jai alai fronton could not be enforced because the state's statute of frauds requires a written document signed by both parties.
