Group Wants McDonald's, KFC Cancer Warning Suits Revived

Law360, Los Angeles (February 20, 2014, 8:14 PM EST) -- A consumer watchdog group on Thursday urged a California appeals court to revive their lawsuits alleging McDonald’s Corp., KFC Corp. and other restaurant chains fail to sufficiently warn Golden State consumers that their chicken-grilling process creates a cancer-causing chemical.

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine appealed to California’s Second District Court of Appeal the dismissal of two suits alleging McDonald's, Applebee's, KFC and other restaurants fail to provide sufficient notice to customers that grilled chicken contains a known carcinogen, as required by the state's Proposition 65....
