House Passes Temporary Government Funding Bill

Law360, Washington (December 7, 2017, 5:04 PM EST) -- Congress on Thursday passed a measure to fund the government through Dec. 22, potentially avoiding a federal government shutdown over the weekend.

The 235-193 House vote and 81-14 Senate vote sends to President Donald Trump a measure that also will include additional temporary funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program. Thursday’s votes are meant to give congressional leaders and the White House enough time to work out a broader spending agreement for the remainder of the fiscal year.
