US Should Probe Forest City’s EB-5 Visa Use, Watchdog Says

Law360, New York (December 9, 2013, 2:16 PM EST) -- Watchdog group Cause of Action asked the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on Monday to investigate Forest City Enterprises Inc.'s use of the EB-5 visa program at its various New York projects, claiming the developer enticed foreign investors by misrepresenting the risks.

After completing its own 18-month investigation into the developer's activities, the group turned to Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., to probe the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services unit of the Department of Homeland Security's administration of the EB-5 program with regard to Forest City's projects, and whether the U.S. Department of Justice failed to prosecute the developer....
