Deals Rumor Mill: Campbell, Richemont, Lone Star

By Adam Rhodes (October 1, 2018, 9:26 PM EDT) -- Activist investor Daniel Loeb is pushing for Campbell Soup Co. to offload a trove of brands and consider a sale, Bloomberg reported on Monday. According to the report, the investor said that the company could reap nearly $60 per share in a sale and should additionally weigh selling Pop Secret and Pepperidge Farms Frozen Cakes, among other brands. In a late-September letter, Loeb's hedge fund Third Point also assailed company management for "bad deals that saddled the company with way too much debt," Bloomberg's report notes. The report comes after the hedge fund revealed plans to replace Campbell's entire board in early September....
